The envelope arrived on Friday. It was from Zach. There was no mistaking his handwritten name on the front, since he struggled with fine motor control and handwriting for his entire life. The rest was written by someone else.
This post has been on my mind constantly for the past week. I love that Zach was so excited for the future and wanted to go to B.U. and was so optimistic and had so many passions. He was such a special kid. My heart is broken all over again thinking he should have been 19. Thinking of you both and sending hugs. xoxo
Very tender, I think of Zach often which Is a way, I imagine, of offering you guys
a prayer of remembrance. Even though the loss is sharp, the love you shared with Zach will always be there like a string, a ribbon, a piece of yarn, between you to urge you on and support you. Love never dies, we cannot create it, we cannot erase it. It just is.
Gosh. No one can ever understand how bittersweet it is. I got the same letter last year when David was supposed to graduate. He had so much life in him. So much to be hopeful for. He too mentioned the Patriots and his dog. Such innocent words from Zach. I think of you and Jen often.
Thank you Lori. We so appreciate that we are on the same journey - together, but of course wish we never connected in this way. We are grateful for your kind words and support here, and know that we think about you and your family frequently as well.
Very poignant...
Thank you
